Matthew Tucker first began making art at school, he is now a practising artist at Māpura Studios in Tāmaki Makaurau. Matthew has been attending Māpura for 18 years.

His work explores ideas cosmology, mathematics, science, colour, rhythm and repetition.

Speaking about his recent work ‘The Universal Jigsaw of Life’ Matthew said “ I wanted to go outside my comfort zone and challenge myself to complete a larger project. I wanted to challenge my mind.  It was a meditative random process to fill a space with colour”.
