Jessica Webb (b.1996) is an artist based in Tāmaki Makaurau. She completed her Masters of Fine Arts at Whitecliffe College of Art and Design in 2023. Her practice explores the idea of body and sense of touch through the conceptual framework of phenomenology. Recent works have been to explore beyond the observational and become more abstract in the approach to touch, allowing the body to emerge from the ink on paper.

Shifting weight was created with the idea of bodily movement in mind. Jessica explores the range of movement her body has as she moves through the world; it can be slow and fluid but also rigid and quick. By working at this site-specific scale, it activates the space through the visual bodily movements of the work.
