Debbie Harris is a ceramic object-based installation artist. Recently completing her Masters in Visual Arts at AUT University, her practice investigates how materials can operate in conjunction with one another to form spatial compositions akin to an imagined garden of objects. Her organic sculptures playfully explore the eccentric forms that can be found within the garden bed.
Debbie grew up in Te Papaioea, Palmerston North, her childhood home located on Ruamahanga Cres. Now living in Tāmaki Makaurau, Auckland, Debbie reflects on cherished memories of playing in her neighbour's gardens around the street. This exhibition is titled after her memories of gardens there.
